    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>The Opportunity</strong></span></span></p><p>This role will require onsite work 4 days per week.</p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"RU\" style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The Associate Corporate Counsel position is responsible, under the guidance of Department of Legal Affairs (DLA) Leadership, for providing valued, strategic, and practical legal advice and support for Providence St. Joseph Health (“Providence”) in a wide range of diverse litigation and dispute matters, including general liability, medical malpractice (as appropriate), commercial disputes, regulatory enforcement, and internal investigations, and for specific projects as assigned.</span></span></p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"RU\" style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The ideal candidate brings strong litigation skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to risk mitigation and case strategy. This role works closely with Risk Management, Compliance, Claims, and operational leaders to protect the organization’s interests while advancing its mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.</span></span></p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Manage a portfolio of active litigation matters, including general liability, professional liability (as assigned), contract disputes, business torts, and regulatory enforcement.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Coordinate closely with Risk Management and insurance carriers on pre-litigation claims and insured matters.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Oversee outside counsel: approve strategy, budgets, pleadings, discovery, and resolution recommendations.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Advise internal stakeholders on litigation risk, early case assessment, and settlement strategy.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Support internal investigations and responses to subpoenas, civil investigative demands, and administrative inquiries (excluding employment-related matters).</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Serve as legal liaison for complex tort claims, facility incidents, and enterprise-level disputes.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Participate in the development of system-wide litigation protocols, early warning systems, and risk mitigation initiatives.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Provide education and guidance to operational teams on litigation trends, claims processes, and documentation practices.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Maintain accurate tracking, documentation, and reporting of litigation and dispute matters.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Assume responsibility for administrative functions within DLA, as assigned.</span></span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Active admission and license to practice law in either Oregon, California or Washington.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">At least 2 years of relevant litigation experience (law firm experience is a plus), including experience with general liability, healthcare-related claims, or commercial litigation.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to manage multiple matters and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including risk, compliance, claims, and operations.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Superior communication skills in both written and verbal presentation, including all aspects of legal writing technique and procedure, and the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to function effectively and complete projects in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff within DLA and Providence.</span></span></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><u>Salary Range by Location:</u></p><p><strong><u>Renton, WA or Irvine, CA</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><p><u>Min: $79.52</u></p><p>&nbsp;</p></li><li><u>Max: $127.13</u></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Portland, OR&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><u>Min: $76.29</u></li><li><u>Max: $121.96</u></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p>",
