    "description": "<p>This role will lead on Health &amp; Safety provision to all operational areas of Origins fertiliser manufacturers, Origin Soil Nutrition and PB Kent. The role is specifically to provide competent advice to Directors, Managers and employees at all levels while also coordinating the day-to day activity of the Health and Safety Team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Health, Safety &amp; Compliance Manager (HSCM) will work closely with both business Operations Directors to ensure effective provision of Health, Safety &amp; Compliance support whilst also leading on Health &amp; Safety related requirements.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Both Origin Soil Nutrition and PB Kent are fast paced fertiliser manufacturing businesses located at 12 sites around mainland UK. The role will require regular travel around the UK in close liaison with Operations and Engineering management teams.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(38, 38, 38); font-size: 12pt\">The Health &amp; Safety team includes a Safety Advisor and Safety Training Coordinator, both position report directly to the HSCM. There is also an on-site H&amp;S Lead at the PB Kent site that receives direction and advice from the HSCM.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(38, 38, 38); font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Main Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Communication and coordination on a range of topics relating to Health, Safety &amp; Compliance with the following:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide subject matter expertise to senior management, including the Directors and site managers throughout Origin Soil Nutrition and PB Kent.</li>\n<li>Provide support to all employees within the businesses from shop floor to office staff including managerial level and health &amp; safety representatives.</li>\n<li>Support and advise the H&amp;S Advisor and Training Coordinator within the H&amp;S team in all aspects of their work.\n<ul>\n<li>Completing company specific risk assessments</li>\n<li>Development of Safe Systems of work relating to site activities.</li>\n<li>Provision and distribution of Health &amp; Safety related safety information to company locations including safety alerts and notices.</li>\n<li>On-site visits to provide all required H&amp;S advice.</li>\n<li>Provision of all required safety training and the upkeep of the training matrix.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Provide Health, Safety &amp; Compliance presentations and reports to senior managers as required including\n<ul>\n<li>Monthly updates for Management meetings</li>\n<li>Monthly data to the Group Head of Safety</li>\n<li>Input to the Group quarterly review</li>\n<li>Updates presented to the Group Health, Safety &amp; Wellbeing quarterly meeting</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Company focal point for Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) in support of COMAH sites.</li>\n<li>Working closely with Enforcement authorities, direct liaison with the Health, Safety Executive (HSE), Environmental Agency (EA), Local Authorities and Department of transport Inspectors in relation to our COMAH facilities and locations with environmental permits.</li>\n<li>Represent the businesses at twice-yearly Fertiliser Industry Assurance Scheme (FIAS) national Working Group meetings.</li>\n<li>Provide support to all locations for annual FIAS compliance audits.</li>\n<li>Provide Company focus and coordination for any RIDDOR incidents and accident investigations.</li>\n<li>Coordination of National 3rd party contractors providing services to company sites e.g. Fire equipment servicing, Occupational Health Surveillance.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure Company Health &amp; Safety software is maintained and fit for purpose.</li>\n<li>Provide subject matter expertise to Directors on any Health &amp; Safety related aspects that relate to changes to sites, raw materials, processes or equipment.</li>\n<li>Maintain oversight of changes to regulation / law in relation to Health, Safety and as such compliance.</li>\n<li>Monitor objectives and targets for improving the Company’s Health, Safety &amp; Environmental performance.</li>\n<li>Work closely with the Group Head of Safety in all aspects of implementing long-term, Group driven, H&amp;S strategy.</li>\n<li>Work with senior managers within both businesses to ensure continuous improvement of H&amp;S management in-line with the Group Head of Safety’s ongoing Safety Excellence programme.</li>\n<li>Ensure completion of annual reviews and updates on relevant documentation e.g. Emergency plans and fire risk assessments.</li>\n<li>Ensure that routine Occupational Hygiene assessments are undertaken, and any necessary corrective actions carried out.</li>\n<li>Maintain central Health, Safety &amp; Compliance document system.</li>\n<li>Carrying out Operational audits of sites and ensuring corrective actions are agreed and target dates established.</li>\n<li>Provision and distribution of Health &amp; Safety related safety information to company locations including safety alerts and notices.</li>\n<li>Act as Company embodiment of commitment to employees Health, Safety and welfare through active demonstration of high levels of commitment and involvement in Health &amp; Safety related aspects.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills &amp; Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience as a H&amp;S manager in a fast-paced manufacturing industry is essential</li>\n<li>NEBOSH General Certificate minimum with 5 years’ experience.</li>\n<li>NEBOSH Diploma / Health &amp; Safety related degree – Preferred with 5 years’ experience.</li>\n<li>Be able to influence and build relationships across all levels of the business.</li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of UK Health &amp; Safety Regulations &amp; best practice</li>\n<li>Ability to work as part of a multi-department team.</li>\n<li>Excellent administrative skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise workload.</li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>\n<li>Proficient computer skills with knowledge of MS packages.</li>\n<li>Ability to travel within the UK, as and when required.</li>\n<li>Ability to apply common sense.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(38, 38, 38);
