At the senior level, the Firmware Engineer provides technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentoring support to help expand firmware capability across the engineering organization.This position operates within a growing engineering team, contributing to improved system reliability, deeper technical expertise, and the evolution of future motorized and automated product offerings.</p>\n<p><strong>Objectives</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for motorized and connected products across multiple brands and product lines.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with Electrical Engineering to support hardware bring-up, firmware-hardware integration, and system-level debugging.</li>\n <li>Implement firmware solutions that meet requirements for power consumption, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain firmware interfaces for motors, controls, user interfaces, and wired or wireless communication protocols.</li>\n <li>Participate in design reviews and incorporate cross-functional feedback into firmware implementations.</li>\n <li>Support validation, production readiness, and manufacturing test activities.</li>\n <li>Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions for customer, manufacturing, or field issues.</li>\n <li>Maintain firmware documentation, version control discipline, and release practices.</li>\n <li>At the senior level, contribute to firmware architecture decisions, mentor other engineers, and help define firmware standards and best practices.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.</li>\n <li>6+ years of embedded firmware development experience, including system-level ownership and technical leadership responsibilities.</li>\n <li>Relevant experience with new product development and product design.</li>\n <li>Experience working on battery-powered, resource-constrained embedded systems.</li>\n <li>Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git) with disciplined branching and release practices.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with embedded debugging tools such as JTAG, SWD, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.</li>\n <li>Experience working with issue tracking, change management, and release documentation tools.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word) for documentation and communication.</li>\n <li>Preferred: Familiarity with Silicon Labs (SiLabs) and STMicroelectronics (STM) microcontrollers, including SDK implementation, configuration, and integration into product firmware applications.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong foundation in embedded firmware development using C/C++ for microcontroller-based systems.</li>\n <li>Experience designing and implementing firmware architectures using state machines, task scheduling, and modular design principles.</li>\n <li>Proficiency implementing and debugging communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, and higher-level wired and wireless protocols.</li>\n <li>Experience developing firmware for low-power and battery-powered devices, including power-state management and optimization.</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience integrating firmware with custom hardware, including collaboration with electrical engineering during bring-up and debug.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with wireless and IoT-enabled products (e.g., Zigbee, Z-Wave, BLE, Wi-Fi).</li>\n <li>Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li>Strong technical communication skills for reports, project updates, and cross-functional alignment.</li>\n <li>Preferred: Experience developing embedded firmware on ARM architecture microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M), including startup/boot concepts, interrupts, memory constraints, and performance/power tradeoffs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>How We Work to Deliver a Best Experience: Our Culture</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Our Core Value: We do the right thing, always</strong></li>\n <li><strong>Our Seven Cultural Behaviors</strong></li>\n <ul>\n  <li><strong>Empowerment - </strong>We trust our people.</li>\n  <li><strong>Ownership - </strong>We take 100% responsibility for our roles actions, and results.</li>\n  <li><strong>Leadership - </strong>We all lead by example and talk direct with respect (DWR).</li>\n  <li><strong>One Team - </strong>We are One Springs Team.</li>\n  <li><strong>Customer First - </strong>We consider our customers' needs before every decision.</li>\n  <li><strong>Continuous Innovation - </strong>We are constantly learning, innovating, and improving.</li>\n  <li><strong>Speed - </strong>We define priorities and operate with a sense of urgency and agility.</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>",
