School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Biola University - Fall 2026 The School of Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology beginning August 2026. We are seeking an individual who will join our faculty in contributing to the training of future sociologists through teaching, research, mentorship, and the integration of faith and sociology. Qualifications PhD in Sociology preferred Strong record or potential for excellence in teaching and research Commitment to mentoring and supporting students Demonstrated interest in and capacity to integrate sociology and Christian Theology Candidates who bring diverse perspectives and a commitment to Christian higher education are encouraged to apply. Role and Responsibilities Teach courses in undergraduate concentrations (Criminology, Social Work, Sociology) Engage in scholarship that reflects both scientific rigor and a commitment to the integration of Sociology and Christian Theology Participate in departmental service, professional development, and spiritual community life. Biola University Biola University is a Christ-centered, private university in La Mirada, California, serving a diverse student body of approximately 3,500 undergraduates and 2,000 graduate students. Our mission is to equip men and women in mind and character to impact the world for Christ. Faculty are expected to affirm the Biola’s Theological Positions and Standard of Conduct, and to actively engage in spiritual formation and mentorship within the community.
