    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout.&nbsp;<br><br><br><strong><u>Principal Accountabilities:</u></strong><br><br>\n 1. Mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.&nbsp;<br>\n 2. Fabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.&nbsp;<br>\n 3. Cuts and bends tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools and joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units.&nbsp;<br>\n 4. Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating-ventilation fans to control panels, and connects control panels to power source.&nbsp;<br>\n 5. Installs expansion and discharge valves in circuit.&nbsp;<br>\n 6. Injects small amount of refrigerant into compressor to test systems and adds Freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure.&nbsp;<br>\n 7. Replaces defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units, using electrician's hand tools and test equipment.&nbsp;<br>\n 8. Ensures efficient operations and makes routine and non-routine decisions with some latitude, but still subject to approval.<br>\n 9. Performs other related duties as assigned.</p>",
