    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>NaphCare is hiring a <strong>Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)</strong> to join our team of medical professionals in the <strong>Arizona Department of Corrections - Safford</strong><strong> </strong>in<strong>  Safford, AZ.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Pay rates range from <strong>$18.00</strong> to <strong>$20.00 </strong>per hour based on shift, site needs, licensure, and experience.</p>\n<p>  </p>\n<p>Full Time and Part Time positions may be available! <strong>$2,500 Sign on Bonus for Full Time. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a <strong>Correctional CMA</strong>, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals with examinations, taking patient histories, vital signs, supporting administrative tasks, etc. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em><strong>*New grads are encouraged to apply - we'll train you in the exciting field of correctional healthcare!*</strong></em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>As a<strong> CMA</strong>, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:</p>\n<p><strong><u>Clinical Duties:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history</li>\n <li>Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight</li>\n <li>Administering medication (under the direction of a physician)</li>\n <li>Providing basic wound care</li>\n <li>Performing basic laboratory tests</li>\n <li>Assisting providers during patient examinations and procedures</li>\n <li>Providing basic patient education and instructions</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Administrative Duties:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments</li>\n <li>Maintaining inventory of medical and office supplies</li>\n <li>Answering phones, emails and other forms of communications</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Requirements / Qualifications</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED Certificate</li>\n <li>Current Certification as Certified Medical Assistant in AZ</li>\n <li>Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information</li>\n <li>Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)</li>\n <li>Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues</li>\n <li>Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements</li>\n <li><strong>Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Physical Capabilities:</strong></p>\n<p>Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why Join NaphCare?</strong></p>\n<p>NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US and we are growing.
