We provide a full range of industrial facilities maintenance and process maintenance services.</p>\n<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p>MOR PPM Inc. is seeking plant mechanics in Spruce Pines, NC. The Plant Mechanics will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.  Current Tappisafe Basic candidates preferred. </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong> --</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.</li>\n <li>Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly</li>\n <li>Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations</li>\n <li>Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime</li>\n <li>Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts</li>\n <li>Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones</li>\n <li>Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts</li>\n <li>Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts</li>\n <li>Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.</li>\n <li>Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor</li>\n <li>Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p>Preferred: 4 years work experience as an industrial plant mechanic or has successfully completed a curriculum closely related to plant mechanic work from a vocational institution with 2 years’ experience. </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign</li>\n <li>May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds </li>\n <li>Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above</li>\n <li>Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas</li>\n <li>Must have full range of motion consistent with age</li>\n <li>Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders </li>\n <li>Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises </li>\n <li>Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces </li>\n <li>Safety/Steel toe shoes are required</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#PPM</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>As a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
