JOIN OUR MISSION TO END HOMELESSNESS
Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, we believe everyone deserves a safe home and the opportunity to thrive. That’s why we provide long-term housing paired with on-site services that promote stability, health, and community. Our culture is rooted in dignity, respect, and shared responsibility: We practice hospitality, communicate with care, and collaborate across differences. We value lived experience, cultural responsiveness, and approaches grounded in harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, and resident choice. We look for people who are committed to safety, learning, and continuous improvement — and who bring steady, values-aligned service in moments that are complex or high-stress.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Director of Innovation supports Plymouth Housing’s Quality, Innovation and Health (QIH) department by leading grant research, funding opportunity analysis, and grant management coordination. This role helps identify external funding opportunities that align with Plymouth’s priorities, assesses scope-of-work fit, and supports planning for grant implementation and reporting. The Director works closely with Finance, Resource Development, and QIH leadership to ensure grant opportunities are thoughtfully vetted, well-coordinated, and connected to internal program needs.
This position is well suited to someone who is strong in research, organization, relationship-building, and cross-functional planning. It plays an important role in helping Plymouth expand and sustain innovative services, including behavioral health-related work as QIH grows.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research grant opportunities and keep up with funding trends relevant to Plymouth’s priorities. Review grant scopes of work to assess fit with current programs, strategic direction, and internal capacity. Evaluate how much of a stretch a potential grant would be and identify implementation considerations. Draft or coordinate grant-related written materials, reports, and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) as needed. Attend funder Q&A sessions and summarize key information for internal teams. Gather internal program data, population profiles, and service trends to inform grant research and proposal planning. Create and maintain grantmaker profiles and a grant pipeline to support proactive funding strategy. Partner with Finance on grant budgets, scope-of-work deliverables, and reporting requirements. Coordinate with QIH directors and the Vice President of QIH on funder meetings and grant-related planning. Develop grant timelines to ensure scope-of-work deliverables, reporting, and internal deadlines are met. Gather the information needed for reporting and work with internal partners to support accurate submissions. Track grant-related milestones, deadlines, and follow-up items across projects. Partner with Finance, Resource Development, and QIH leadership to align funding opportunities with budget, program priorities, and organizational asks. Coordinate with program leaders to gather input on service needs, outcomes, and implementation feasibility. Support communication across departments so grant opportunities are evaluated and managed efficiently. Assist with projects and special initiatives related to QIH innovation and behavioral health expansion. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES WE NEED FROM YOU
Builds trust and works respectfully with people from many backgrounds and lived experiences, contributing to safe, welcoming housing communities where residents experience dignity, choice, and belonging. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to build effective working relationships across departments. Comfort working with data, program information, and grant-related documentation. Strong coordination and follow-through skills. QUALIFICATIONS
Three or more years of experience in grant research, grants management, program coordination, or related work.
