Description

General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies. The Power Systems Electrical Technician (DIII-D) is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing, and maintaining high-voltage pulsed power systems, DC power supplies, transformers, switchgear, and capacitor banks. This role requires a hands-on technician capable of working independently in a safety-critical environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform routine preventative maintenance on power systems equipment Diagnose and repair complex analog and digital circuit boards down to the component level (e.g., capacitors, ICs, resistors) using schematics, wiring diagrams, and test equipment Collaborate with engineers to resolve recurring or complex issues, including reverse-engineering legacy or custom-built boards with limited documentation Conduct functional testing and verification after repairs Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, failures, and test results Assist in process improvements and reliability enhancements We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
