Description
You don’t see it, but it’s there. Our employees work on the world’s most advanced electronics – from saving emissions in the City of Lights to powering the Mars Rover to protecting the F-35 fighter jet. At Electronic Systems, you’ll be among the brightest minds, working on the aerospace and defense industry’s most difficult problems. Drawing strength from our differences, we’re innovating for the future. And you can, too.
Our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life. We put our customers first – exemplified by our missions: “We Protect Those Who Protect Us®” and “We Innovate For Those Who Move The WorldTM.” Sound like a team you want to be a part of? Come build your career with us.
In the Precision Guided Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line, we design and manufacture state-of-the-art sensors and guidance kits that enable our customers to execute their precision strike missions. BAE Systems is looking for a Development Program Quality Engineer for our Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System (APKWS) Production Program. The APKWS Production Program is responsible for over $250M in annual sales revenue and the factory is located in Hudson, NH.
The Development Program Quality Engineer will responsible for supporting Design Quality Efforts on various development programs including a key focus on second sourcing initiatives to ensure supply chain resilience and cost optimization. This will include the entire program life cycle (Proposal, Design, Production, Services, and Sustainment). They will utilize their expertise in Quality to ensure compliance, drive process improvements, lead root cause corrective actions and guide business decisions with data.
This individual needs to have solid communications skills as well as having the ability to engage across all levels of the organization in building effective relationships.
As a part of an interdisciplinary program team, the Design Quality Engineer will be involved in (but not limited to) the following: Review and evaluate mechanical designs, specifications, and technical documents to ensure compliance with established standards and best practices. Ensure that designs meet functional requirements and manufacturing capabilities using key GD&T engineering checking techniques Provide notations and feedback to team members so necessary corrections are made to designs and reference materials. Collaborate with engineering teams to identify design issues and provide guidance and expertise to improve overall engineering processes. Actively participate in the qualification and validation of secondary sources, ensuring designs are adaptable to alternative manufacturing processes and materials. Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as manufacturing and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of quality into the design process. Investigate design-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid future occurrences. This includes investigating quality deviations identified during second source qualification. Maintain accurate records of design reviews, test results, and quality assurance activities for future reference and audits.
