Position: Level II PAUT Technician
Location: Houma, LA
Position Overview
The Level II PAUT Technician will perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations to determine acceptance or rejection according to written instructions, applicable codes, standards, and specifications. This role requires the ability to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate results, and maintain accurate records. Level II Technicians are expected to be fully knowledgeable about the methods they use, understand their scope and limitations, and provide on-the-job training and guidance to Assistants and Level I Technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and calibrate PAUT and other nondestructive testing equipment.
Conduct tests to ensure quality and detect discontinuities (defects) using approved NDT methods.
Establish proper examination techniques, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Apply inspection criteria per applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
Interpret readings from digital displays, radiographs, conductivity meters, or other indicators.
Organize, document, and report test results accurately.
Perform specialized inspections as required.
Provide training and supervision to Assistants and Level I Technicians.
Complete other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
Education & Experience
NDT Level II PAUT certification (required).
Additional NDT Level II certifications in RT (with OJT and state card), MT, PT, and/or UTT preferred.
Strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
Proven ability to perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Requirements
Pass DISA background check.
Pass all required drug screenings.
Complete site-specific safety council training.
Successfully test out in all required methods with XCEL.
Qualifications
