This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive professional who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys managing complex cases from intake through trial preparation.\n\nThe Habitability Litigation Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting cases involving substandard living conditions, landlord negligence, tenant harassment, wrongful eviction, and other housing related disputes. The ideal candidate has experience handling habitability or landlord tenant matters, strong knowledge of California civil litigation procedures, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients.\n\n About Block LLP\n\nBlock LLP is a rapidly growing plaintiff personal injury law firm dedicated to delivering exceptional results and exemplary service to our clients. These values guide how we support our clients, collaborate with one another, and approach our work every day.\n\n What You'll Do\n\n Litigation Support\n\n Assist attorneys throughout all stages of habitability and tenant rights litigation.\n Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents.\n File legal documents with courts and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.\n Monitor litigation calendars and track critical case deadlines.\n Support attorneys with settlement negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation.\n\n Case Management\n\n Organize, maintain, and update case files to ensure accuracy and completeness.\n Manage document collection, review, and production during discovery.\n Gather and organize evidence, including photographs, inspection reports, repair requests, medical records, and housing related documentation.\n Coordinate with clients, experts, inspectors, contractors, medical providers, and opposing counsel.\n Maintain accurate case notes and records within the firm's case management system.\n\n Client Communication\n\n Communicate with clients to obtain information, documentation, and case updates.\n Provide professional and timely updates regarding litigation milestones.\n Assist clients throughout the legal process with empathy, professionalism, and responsiveness.\n\n Requirements\n\n Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Plaintiff Litigation Paralegal.\n Bilingual in English and Spanish.\n Strong understanding of California civil litigation procedures, rules, and deadlines.\n Experience handling habitability, tenant rights, landlord tenant, or housing related litigation matters.\n Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.\n Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.\n Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.\n Proficiency with legal case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.\n\n Preferred Qualifications \n\n 1+ years of experience in habitability or tenant rights litigation.\n Experience preparing cases for mediation, arbitration, or trial.\n Familiarity with California housing laws and local housing regulations.\n Experience with e filing systems and court procedures throughout California.\n Experience working in a high volume plaintiff side law firm environment.\n\n Benefits\n\n Opportunity to work alongside experienced litigation attorneys on meaningful cases.\n Collaborative and supportive team environment.\n High growth law firm with opportunities for advancement.\n Performance based bonus opportunities.\n Firm wide events, team outings, and celebrations.\n Fully stocked kitchen with snacks, beverages, and coffee.\n Competitive compensation package.\n 9 paid firm holidays annually, plus additional paid time off.\n 401(k) retirement program.\n Career growth and advancement opportunities.\n Meaningful work helping tenants and families pursue safe housing and justice.\n\n Apply Today\n\nIf you're an experienced habitability litigation paralegal looking to grow your career with a team that values excellence, teamwork, and exceptional client service, we'd love to hear from you.\n\nBlock LLP is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
