In this position, under supervision, with some latitude for independent judgment and initiative, the Investigator is responsible for conducting a wide variety of criminal investigations.&nbsp;This is a sworn police officer position.&nbsp;<br><br><b><u>Responsibilities include but are not limited to</u>:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Investigates security-related incidents, crimes, or threats.</li>\n <li>Conducting fieldwork, consisting of surveillance and various undercover operations.</li>\n <li>Reviewing facts to ascertain their validity.</li>\n <li>Maintain the safety, security, and control of the building at all times.</li>\n <li>Control access to the building and verify identification.</li>\n <li>Prevent unauthorized access/trespassers into the building.</li>\n <li>Screen visitors and inspect packages, briefcases, and handbags.</li>\n <li>Complete accurate reports by recording observations, information, and occurrences as required.</li>\n <li>Alert management of anything suspicious and notify emergency services, if necessary.</li>\n <li>assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for providing effective security; implement approved policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Use various City databases to perform background and information searches, such as: eJustice, IIS, IFCOM, Webcrims, Google, and various watchdog registries.</li>\n <li>Perform related tasks as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements, candidates must possess the following:</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Level 1 – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college <b>OR</b> High school graduation and two (2) years of full-time paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Level 2 – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college <b>AND</b> one (1) year of investigative work <b>OR</b> High school graduation and three (3) years of full-time paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work.</li>\n <li>Level 3 – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college <b>AND</b> two (2) years of investigative work <b>OR</b> High school graduation and four (4) years of full-time paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work.</li>\n <li>Level 4 – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college <b>AND</b> three (3) years of investigative work <b>OR</b> High school graduation and five (5) years of full-time paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work.</li>\n <li>Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.</li>\n <li>Must pass a medical exam, drug test, psychological screening, and an intensive background check.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Preferred Requirements/Skills:</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Licensed to carry a firearm.</li>\n <li>Bilingual Mandarin, Cantonese or Korean preferred.</li>\n <li>Bilingual Spanish preferred.</li>\n <li>Prior law enforcement or criminal justice experience.</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal, organizational,&nbsp;written, and verbal skills.</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.</li>\n <li>Must possess&nbsp;the ability and&nbsp;readiness to quickly learn and use various industry relevant computer software.</li>\n <li>Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workflow.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects.</li>\n <li>Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.</li>\n <li>Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.</li>\n <li>Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.</li>\n <li>Ability to interact with all levels of staff and other law enforcement agencies.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>How to Apply:</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Apply with a Cover Letter and Resume.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Hours/Shift:</u></b></p>\n<p>Candidates must be available to work one of the following shifts:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>8:00 AM – 4:00 PM</li>\n <li>10:00 AM – 6:00 PM</li>\n <li>4:00 PM – 12:00 AM</li>\n <li>6:00 PM – 2:00 AM</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Flexibility is essential.
