    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\">POSITION SUMMARY:</p><p>The Physical Therapist develops and provides physical therapy services to referred patients and serves as a patient advocate in the Therapy Department.</p><p>JOB-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Consults, screens, evaluates, and treats patients as assigned in inpatient and outpatient settings.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Evaluates patients within two to three working days of physician referral, depending on the level of care.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Develops effective treatment plans for assigned patients.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Supervises the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in direct patient care and patient-related activities. Provide treatments and monitor the progress of assigned patients. Treats patients according to a treatment plan approved by the attending physician.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Communicates with the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) Services, physicians, and other team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates in necessary in patient care conferences and weekly rehabilitation meetings.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates in policy and procedure meetings.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Documents treatments and outcomes and all required documentation related to patient care according to accepted regulatory, corporate, and professional guidelines in a timely manner.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates in In-Service Training Programs with staff to achieve a high standard of care for all staff.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Records daily treatments and charges with respect to department policy.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Establishes and instructs parents/caregivers in patient-specific home exercise programs/maintenance programs.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Participates in discharge planning.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Secures necessary durable medical equipment and adaptive equipment for patients to facilitate independence.&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Acts as a clinical preceptor for affiliating Physical Therapy or Physical Therapy Assistant schools.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Communicates and coordinates clinical services/department functions with other departments to achieve cohesion and effectiveness.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Communicates with the Director of Rehabilitation Services regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems, and successes.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Demonstrates knowledge of Physical Therapy equipment utilized in different procedures, for example, electrical stimulation, traction, ultrasound, whirlpool, etc.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Complies with state regulations and national standards as they apply to the practice of Physical Therapy.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Utilizes resources appropriately and uses/maintains equipment to prolong working life.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Accesses and checks webmail each shift when working to keep informed of current events.</p><p><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Performs other duties as assigned.</p><p>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:</p><p>EDUCATION: &nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>A graduate of a bachelor&#39;s level program in Physical Therapy.&nbsp;</p><p>EXPERIENCE: &nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Minimum of one year of experience working in an IP and OP setting in developmental disabilities and neurological/orthopedic conditions.</p><p>LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:&nbsp;</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Licensed by the Physical Therapy Board of Texas.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Current CPR certification.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Attend behavioral management and de-escalation techniques training as required by the facility.</p><p>&bull;<span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</span>Certification in behavior management or related (SAMA, ABA, PIP, etc.)</p><p><br></p><p><br></p></div></div>\n",
