    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>This Opportunity</strong></p><p>WSP is currently initiating a search for a <strong>Senior Mechanical Engineer</strong> to join our <strong>Property &amp; Buildings&nbsp;</strong>team in <strong>Los Angeles, CA</strong>.</p><p>This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who brings experience across healthcare and other complex building sectors, including commercial, higher education, and civic projects, and is looking to grow within a collaborative, design-focused environment.</p><p>Be involved in projects with our Property &amp; Buildings Team and be part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Your Impact</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Perform mechanical engineering design and technical delivery across a diverse portfolio including healthcare, commercial, higher education, and civic projects</li><li>Support design of HVAC, air distribution, hydronic, plumbing, and building systems</li><li>Participate in the full project lifecycle, from concept development through construction and close-out</li><li>Analyze and interpret data from site conditions, drawings, and technical documents to support engineering solutions</li><li>Prepare and contribute to technical reports, specifications, and design documentation&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and sector-specific requirements, including healthcare environments</li><li>Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions</li><li>Support client interactions and project meetings, building strong working relationships</li><li>Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering</li><li>5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design for building systems</li><li>Experience supporting projects across healthcare and/or commercial, higher education, or civic sectors</li><li>Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical design principles</li><li>Experience supporting projects from design through construction</li><li>Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related engineering tools</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtain</li><li>Experience working on complex healthcare or institutional projects</li><li>Familiarity with California codes and local jurisdiction requirements</li><li>Experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams</li><li>LEED AP or sustainability credentials</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><u>WSP Benefits:&nbsp;</u>&nbsp;</p><p>WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
