As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!</p>\n<p>Join our team of pharmacy experts and provide safe and effective medication preparation and distribution to all clinical units and outpatient areas here at Humber River Health.</p>\n<p>Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the  Pharmacy Technician Intern is responsible for performing day-to-day operational and technical tasks associated with drug distribution across the hospital. The pharmacy technician intern will work under the direct supervision of staff Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Supervisors.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Employment Status: </strong>Temporary  Full Time Role</p>\n<p><strong>Duration (if contract):</strong> up to 6 months <strong> </strong>subject to operational needs.<strong>Hours of Work:</strong>  Must be available for all rotating shifts.  Part time and Temporary Part time staff are required to provide availability and be available for 3-4 shifts per week including weekends per operational needs.  Subject to Change.  <strong></strong><strong>Location:</strong> Hennick Humber Hospital, Wilson Site  may be required to travel to all sites.</p>\n<p><strong>Hourly Rate:  </strong>$27.472</p>\n<p><strong>Employee Group: </strong>Non union </p>\n<p><strong>Salary Range:</strong> $27.427</p>\n<p><strong>Reporting Relationship: </strong>Manager, Pharmacy Services</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure safe and effective drug distribution to patient care areas, utilizing central pharmacy automation and automated dispensing cabinets.</li>\n <li>Manufacturing and compounding of non-sterile and sterile products in accordance with NAPRA standards.</li>\n <li>Contribute to inventory management through receiving and barcoding of medication stock.</li>\n <li>Issuing and delivering narcotics and controlled substances to patient care areas.</li>\n <li>Enhance the safety, effectiveness and quality of care through participation in quality audits.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with pharmacists in compiling Best Possible Medication Histories (BPMH).</li>\n <li>Any other job duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program that is accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP)</li>\n <li>Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Pharmacy Technician Intern</li>\n <li>In the process of completing regulatory requirements for registration as a Part A Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), with the goal of obtaining RPhT designation within 6 months of hire</li>\n <li>Preference will be given to candidates that have registered for OR completed the Jurisprudence and the PEBC Qualifying Exam</li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
