    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The Lead Youth Development Specialist works with Branch leadership and Youth Development Professionals to ensure high-quality programming and youth development practices are implemented throughout the Branch. Boys &amp; Girls Clubs offers daily access to a broad range of programs in five core program areas (Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation) and several specialized initiatives. All programs are designed to drive positive outcomes for youth and reinforce necessary life skills. The Lead Youth Development Specialist will assist with Branch program planning, program implementation, member program coordination and supervision of programs and activities for youth and/or teens</p><p><strong>FLSA STATUS:&nbsp;</strong>Non-Exempt<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>REPORTS TO:</strong>&nbsp; Program Director</p><p><strong>DIVISION</strong>:<strong>&nbsp;</strong>Club Operations</p><p><strong>DIRECT REPORTS:</strong> N/A</p><p><strong>JOB RESPONSBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Employs BGCAZ &ldquo;Rules of Engagement&rdquo; in day to day interactions with staff</li><li>Facilitates programs/sessions modeling group management, program instruction, and youth engagement practices to ensure healthy and safe program environments</li><li>Assist Youth Development Specialists with program planning (including calendars and lesson plans), daily preparation, participant data collection and high-quality practices to boost engagement&nbsp;</li><li>Informally observes Youth Development Professionals and provide feedback and coaching, including coordination of shadow/observation opportunities for new Youth Development Professionals</li><li>Plan, promote and conduct specialized event and programs, including Leagues</li><li>Plan, promote, and conduct special events, recruiting members for programs (including grant funded), activities and leagues</li><li>Lead daily/weekly Youth Development Professional huddles,&nbsp;promoting site-wide communication about continuous quality improvement practices in programming, environment, and evaluation</li><li>Initiate and maintain community contacts; families, schools and other organizations and institutions as directed</li><li>Participate in a BGCAZ meetings and work committees</li><li>Transports youth and/or teens to during Club sponsored activities to enhance programming and special experiences&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate&nbsp;</li><li>Must obtain/maintain a current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler&rsquo;s Certification (within first 90 days of employment)</li><li>Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver&rsquo;s license</li><li>Must have six months employment with BGCAZ</li><li>Must have availability of a 5-day work week</li><li>Demonstrate good work attendance/work performance</li></ul><p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Working&nbsp;knowledge of federal and state laws and company policies and procedures</li><li>Ability to participates in investigations&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to support the physical property and assets of the Club</li><li>Ability to manage small and large groups of youth in various settings.</li><li>Ability to implement effective individual behavior management</li><li>Ability<ins cite=\"mailto:MAX\" datetime=\"2018-02-13T14:15\">&nbsp;</ins>to maintain and cultivate excellent member/family and community<ins cite=\"mailto:MAX\" datetime=\"2018-02-13T14:15\">&nbsp;</ins>relationships and possess excellent customer service skills</li><li>Ability to interact effectively and communicate (in writing and orally) with a variety of youth, staff, volunteers, families, and community members. &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to establish learning objectives for program and activities</li><li>Knowledge of Youth Development service delivery</li><li>Ability to articulate for giving, serve as an ambassador, engage in relationship building and promote philanthropy</li><li>Ability to support the efficiency of Volunteers and future workforce needs to support volunteer program operations</li></ul><p><strong>Perks &amp; Benefits</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Vacation, Holiday and Sick Pay</li><li>Paid Bonus Time Off: Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of the Valley closes down operations during the December holidays and offers a bonus week of time off</li><li>Planet Fitness Gym Membership at no cost!
