Since its inception in 2004, M&J has grown into diversified provider of engineering, construction management, construction inspection, technology, and environmental services to a broad range of clients, including federal, state and city/local agencies, private owners, architects, engineers and contractors.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>M&J Engineering is a leader in construction management and inspection, ITS, mechanical, electrical, wastewater, water supply, tunnel airport, port, marine/coastal, environmental engineering, and design-build services for both new infrastructure projects and renovations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This on-call role serves as an <strong>SME/Senior Project Manager-level expert</strong>, ready to step in for high-stakes scheduling, task management, and emergency response. You’ll support WMATA leadership with research, analysis, quality control, and strategic communication for complex scheduling and project controls. Perfect for a seasoned professional who can lead under pressure and operate with discretion.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>The on-call SMEs will be equivalent to a Senior Project Manager and will be responsible for assisting with scheduling, task management, and emergency and critical events on an as needed basis. The need for senior level SMEs and areas of expertise will be as needed for the duration of the project.</li>\n <li>Support WMATA VP and/or Task Manager with research, analysis, quality control, scheduling and communications related to task order management, annual scheduling, customer impact criteria, and project controls and complex scheduling programs; and</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A minimum of 12 years of experience managing teams of schedulers and complex scheduling programs.</li>\n <li>A minimum of five (5) years of construction, engineering related, or rail maintenance experience;</li>\n <li>Ability to work periodically in the field around operating equipment and field / construction experience, or within a Control Room Environment;</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality;</li>\n <li>Ability to work across multiple departments and manage conflict;</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills;</li>\n <li>Strong organization and proactive communication skills;</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microsoft 365® full suite of applications and Primavera 6® (P6);</li>\n <li>Ability to evaluate and develop complex schedules;</li>\n <li>Ability to read and understand WMATA rail service maps, power diagrams and train operations, power switching orders, and power outage tags;</li>\n <li>Must be highly proficient with Adobe Acrobat® and Visio® to create drawings and maps;</li>\n <li>Experience with rail construction or maintenance;</li>\n <li>Familiarity with WMATA standard processes and procedures; and</li>\n <li>Familiarity with WMATA operations and stakeholders.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate degree or above in construction, construction management or a related engineering field; and</li>\n <li>Experience with TILOS® scheduling software and Procore®.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Salary Range</h2>\n<p>$140,000 to $175,000 annually, depending on experience</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Apply for this position through this job post/ATS or email your resume to [email protected].</p>\n<p>*Third-party recruiters and agencies need not apply.
