    "description": "<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong></strong></p>\n<p><em><strong>A Chemtrade Company</strong></em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position:</strong> Maintenance & Shop Technician</p>\n<p><strong>Primary Location:</strong> In-person at the Mooresville, NC, USA, Polytec Plant (ON-SITE)</p>\n<p><strong>Compensation Range: </strong>$25.00 per hour</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About This Position and About You</strong></p>\n<p>The Maintenance & Shop Technician supports plant operations within a chemical manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for shop fabrication and assembly, equipment maintenance, facility upkeep, and safe material handling while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and quality expectations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What You Need to Be Successful</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED required.</li>\n <li>Minimum 2–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical assembly, fabrication, or related manufacturing environment preferred.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience with MIG, TIG, or stick welding.</li>\n <li>Ability to safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of shop equipment including lathe, mill, saw, and iron worker.</li>\n <li>Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment.</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and general industrial safety standards.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings preferred.</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in mechanical and fabrication work.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assemble, clean, test, calibrate, and prepare sold and supplied customer equipment.</li>\n <li>Build pumps, gas pumps, KB units, and related plant and customer equipment to specification.</li>\n <li>Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding for fabrication, weld assembly, equipment repair, and plant maintenance.</li>\n <li>Fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical and structural components.</li>\n <li>Set up and operate shop equipment including iron worker, saw, lathe, and mill.</li>\n <li>Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rework customer and plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.</li>\n <li>Monitor equipment performance within assigned areas and communicate issues or repair needs to management.</li>\n <li>Clean, clear, and service equipment as necessary to maintain operability, following lockout/tagout procedures.</li>\n <li>Prepare finished equipment for shipment, including palletizing, crating, and verifying accuracy and quality standards.</li>\n <li>Load and unload trucks and trailers using appropriate material handling equipment.</li>\n <li>Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, tractors, and cranes (crane operation with managerial oversight for rigging and lifting).</li>\n <li>Assist with general facility maintenance including minor plumbing, yard upkeep, and rail spur maintenance.</li>\n <li>Support fleet vehicle maintenance with minor mechanical tasks such as battery replacement, lights, doors, and windows.</li>\n <li>Assist with operation and maintenance of rental equipment as assigned.</li>\n <li>Support chemical spill response and cleanup using appropriate equipment and procedures.</li>\n <li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.</li>\n <li>Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.</li>\n <li>Support team members</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What Polytec Offers You</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>Polytec Inc's mission is to provide effective water treatment programs to customers through quality service, products, and technology.
