The individual will be expected to become familiar with the use, maintenance and upkeep of scientific equipment and classrooms which will lead to a safe, effective and pleasant work environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Make solutions used in various instruction labs.</li><li>Prepare microbiological media while utilizing sterile techniques.</li><li>Use and maintain a variety of scientific equipment such as the autoclave and water filtering system.</li><li>Periodically clean and perform minor repairs on a variety of microscope models.</li><li>Maintain laboratory prep rooms, labs, and classrooms neat and operational.</li><li>Follow appropriate safety protocol for handling chemicals, glassware, and spills.</li><li>Maintain preserved specimens, learning models and microscope slides.</li><li>Track and log Material Safety Data Sheets for chemicals.</li><li>Care and maintenance of living organisms as needed.</li><li>Follow safety rules to provide an environment conducive for working.</li><li>Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.</li><li>Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.</li><li>Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.</li><li>Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.</li><li>Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical and Scheduling Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.</li></ul>",
