Description

SUMMARY Summary The Paint Preparation I, is responsible for preparing all metal surfaces of fabricated parts for the painting operation and operate manual tooling to efficiently and accurately perform a variety of manufacturing tasks that require close tolerances and finish. KEY OBJECTIVES Other duties beyond this representative listing may be assigned to the essential job duties and responsibilities of this position based on Company needs. Essential Job Functions 1. Required to work from drawings, blue prints, models, specifications and verbal instructions. 2. Must be proficient in the use of all measuring instruments to layout, check, and verify all dimensions and tolerances. 3. Follow all required steps in the manufacturing standard work process. 4. Must have sufficient knowledge of math to make calculations for cutting speeds, feeds, angles, offsets, etc. 5. Utilize knowledge of working properties and machining processes for a wide variety of materials such as steel, stainless steels, and aluminum. 6. Meet or exceed daily production requirements per production specifications as set by the Production Supervisor. 7. Perform production checks to meet engineering specifications and quality standards. 8. Perform maintenance and change tooling as required. 9. Manual and electronic documentation for the records and data associated with machining operations to ensure compliance with all internal, safety, and regulatory requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. It is required that the individual is accurate with good time management and organizational skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
