The candidate will have the opportunity to lead bridge and culvert projects for NHDOT, MassDOT, RIDOT, and other state agencies. In addition, they will design structures for municipalities, oversee the preparation of contract plans and documents, and mentor junior staff. The projects BETA works on offers a wide variety of opportunities to broaden your skillset and gain valuable experience.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Contribute to the preparation of bridge and structural design documents, including design calculations, AutoCAD plans, specifications, and quantities</li><li>Provides technical engineering expertise to project manager and/or client to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions</li><li>Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work</li><li>Analyze new and existing concrete gravity dams, arch dams, buttress dams, spillways, powerhouses, intake towers, penstocks, dam gates, and similar structures for stresses, stability, and performance under extreme loads</li><li>Develop and evaluate alternatives for new facilities and upgrades to existing projects</li><li>Complete detailed design calculations and prepare contract documents and technical specifications</li><li>Prepare formal written reports, give presentations, and participate in internal and client meetings</li><li>Coordinates plans, schedules, and detailed phases (scopes of work, budgets, and milestones) of assigned project work</li><li>Engage junior staff by piloting structural inspections with field crews</li><li>Collaborate across internal disciplines and office locations</li></ul><p>Preferred location is BETA’s Manchester, NH office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations.
