Description Qualifications : Must currently be an Ithaca College Art History Major, Architectural Studies Major, or Art History Minor. Sophomore standing or above preferred. We are seeking responsible, friendly, dedicated individuals with good organizational and communication skills. Students with a strong interest in supporting the Dept. of Art, Art History, and Architecture are encouraged to apply. Required skills and experience varies according to position. For those Student Assistants directly supporting faculty, a familiarity with basic art and architecture historical research is important. Applicants to be a Teaching Assistant for a particular course should be aware that additional skills and prerequisite experience may be required by the instructor, including have satisfactorily completed the course in a prior semester. For those Student Assistants working closely with the Administrative Assistant, a focused work ethic, positive outgoing collaborative manner, and the ability to complete tasks accurately is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, preferred. Photography, video editing, and other creative and Adobe software skills a plus. Duties and Responsibilities : Students may help faculty with preparing course materials, assisting with classroom activities, library research, image search, and bibliographic needs. Possible mentoring of students and hosting tutoring sessions outside of class in addition to engaging with students during class time. Duties will be dependent upon position and department needs. If you have an interest in working for a particular faculty member, please indicate so in your cover letter and speak to them. Student Assistants in support of the Administrative Assistant will help with office tasks and departmental activities (e.g., typing, data entry, error checking, creating event posters, hosting events, special projects, etc.). Other tasks as assigned. Ithaca College's Art History and Architecture Programs are creating a pool of qualified Student Assistants for possible future openings.
