Responsibilities
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Essential functions and accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Process cord blood and cord tissue samples at all workstations trained and maintain certifications. Adhere to guidelines set forth in safety manual. Understand job hazard analysis concerns and communicate safety issues, deviations from procedures, anomalies, and abnormalities to responsible parties. Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal policies, processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as external regulations as determined by regulatory agencies. Responsible for remaining current in all training. Audit, verify, and maintain accurate records. Maintain donor, client, and employee confidentiality. Perform repetitive tasks, while maintaining attention to detail. Evaluate disposables and equipment for non-conformities and notify responsible parties (QC, Supervisor, and/or Management). Perform daily department startup /shutdown checklist tasks and documentation. Perform general lab cleaning and maintenance. As business needs dictate, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory overtime.

Schedule/ Work Hour Requirements:
This is an onsite position in Tucson, AZ Work hours dictated by the requirements of the lab; flexible to work alternate schedules, able to work mid-shifts, weekends, and holidays. The schedule for this role will be Thu-Mon 0700-1530 . Responsible for monitoring work hours to avoid the accrual of overtime. Overtime must be approved by a Supervisor and be documented in the timekeeping system Must report to work within 1.5 hours from the receipt of notification if “On Call” for a given shift. Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to walk, climb ladder or step stool; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment while processing potentially biohazardous products that may include umbilical cord blood, blood products and/or umbilical cord tissue. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment while utilizing cleaning reagents that may contain hazardous chemicals. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment while utilizing liquid nitrogen and working with equipment that maintains extreme low temperatures.
Experience / Education:
Bachelor’s or Associate degree, preferably in a Laboratory Science or MLT/CLT; or High School diploma with 2 years of equivalent work experience; or 1 year of experience working at CBR; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
