    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>Test the safety of structures, vehicles, or vessels using x-ray, ultrasound, fiber optic or related equipment by performing the following duties.</p><p><br><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Interpret the results of all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) such as acoustic emission, electromagnetic, leak, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, neutron radiographic, radiographic, thermal or infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, and visual testing.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Examine structures or vehicles such as aircraft, trains, nuclear reactors, bridges, dams, and pipelines using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Make radiographic images to detect flaws in objects while leaving objects intact.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Identify defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Prepare reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Conduct liquid penetrant tests to locate surface cracks by coating objects with fluorescent dyes, cleaning excess penetrant, and applying developer.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Document non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, processes, or results.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Produce images of objects on film using radiographic techniques.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Visually examine materials, structures, or components using tools and equipment such as endoscopes, closed circuit television systems, and fiber optics for signs of corrosion, metal fatigue, cracks, or other flaws.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Map the presence of imperfections within objects using sonic measurements.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Identify defects in concrete or other building materials using thermal or infrared testing.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Develop or use new non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as acoustic emission testing, leak testing, and thermal or infrared testing.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Evaluate material properties using radio astronomy, voltage and amperage measurement, or rheometric flow measurement.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Perform other duties like crawler inspection and metrology as assigned.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Metrology Duties<br>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Sets up and uses Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for the 3D inspection of 3D products and for certification of jigs and fixtures.<br>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Converts CMM dimensional reports in customer/TPI accepted form.<br>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Assist quality engineers in performing product audits using CMM.<br>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Coordinates gage/jigs/fixtures calibrations with quality technicians.<br>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Support products in both production and prototype phases.<br>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maintains inventory of standard measurement tools such as rulers, protractors, gauges, calipers, etc.<br>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Conducts research on new measurement methods or technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy in measuring processes.<br>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Develops, implements, and maintains measurement protocols for specific applications.<br>o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Performs other duties and special projects as required.</p><p><strong>Education/ Skills/ Experience:</strong></p><p>High school diploma and 0 - 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p><p><strong>Training Requirements:</strong></p><p><br><strong>Language Skills</strong></p><p><br>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. &nbsp;Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. &nbsp;Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.</p><p><strong>Mathematical Skills</strong></p><p><br>Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. &nbsp;Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.</p><p><strong>Reasoning Skills</strong></p><p><br>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</p><p><strong>Computer Skills</strong></p><p><br>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.</p><p><br><strong>Physical Skills and Abilities:</strong></p><p><br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to be on the factory floor for long periods of time, potentially working across all shifts at times.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Stamina to work 50+ hours/week to support plant performance.<br>&nbsp;</p>",
