    "description": "<p><strong>Job Summary</strong>:</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Ensures the health, safety and welfare of those using the aquatics facilities of The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Centers of Metro Tulsa; provides constant surveillance of pool activities; observes swimmers, and enforces regulations in the guarding of life and the prevention of accidents; maintains the cleanliness of the pool and pool area; monitors and controls the chemical levels of pool water ensuring proper levels are maintained at all times; prepares pool records in a accurate and complete manner.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong>:</p>\r\n\r\n<p>This job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the essential functions and requirements of this position. The incumbent may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Supervisory Responsibilities (10%)</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Serves as the lead worker to other Lifeguard staff; trains staff; answers staff questions and disseminates information on behalf of the Site Director; bring any staff issues to Site Director as they occur.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Lifeguard Responsibilities (35%)</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Maintains constant surveillance of members, guests, and visitors of the aquatics facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of same in the event of an emergency.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Gives group and individual swim lessons as booked following standard training techniques.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Directs and supervises the activities and behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rules; interacts with all members, visitors and guests in a respectful, professional, and positive manner.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers; performs lifesaving C.P.R. and first aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed; stays with victims until emergency medical assistance takes over care of victim.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Pool Cleaning Responsibilities (35%)</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Maintains the cleanliness of the pool water; vacuums bottom of pool surface; scrubs side walls; back washes filter system; checks filter gauges and regulates water level and temperature of pool.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Tests the pool water Ph level and chlorine level as scheduled in order to ensure correct chemical balance of pool water; dispenses chemicals into the pool as needed.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Maintains neatness and cleanliness of pool deck area and pool deck furnishings; collects and disposes of</p>\r\n\r\n<p>trash; maintains a neat and orderly pool office.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Child Care Responsibilities (15%)</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Ensures the accountability, security and safety of children participating in aquatics activities; reports all accidents to the</p>\r\n\r\n<p>supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Exhibits control of the children and, when needed, displays proper discipline techniques.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Administers basic first aid as necessary; reports any health issues with supervisor in accordance to policies and procedures.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Administrative Responsibilities (5%)</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Prepares and maintains weekly reports of aquatic program and attendance.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Other Responsibilities</strong>:</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Attends and participates in regularly scheduled in-service trainings, orientations and staff meetings.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Organizes and oversees special events as needed.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong>:</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Ability to meet attendance requirements.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Ability to swim and perform life saving activities.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Moderate amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, bending, twisting, and carrying light to moderately objects (up to 50 lbs.) occasionally.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Working Conditions</strong>:</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Work is performed in an outdoor pool environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Employee Benefits</strong>:</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Paid Time Off</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Retirement Savings Plan</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Supplemental Insurance</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Voluntary Life Insurance and more!</p>\r\n",
