Job Summary University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. is currently seeking an individual for a full-time position as a Mechanical Senior Project Manager located in the San Diego area. #umecca #LI-LG2 #LI-Onsite Essential Duties & Responsibilities PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Proven project management skills with a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a project manager with full mechanical contracting or related construction firms. Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial related projects. Minimum 5 years of preconstruction/design-assist experience. Proven experience in management of healthcare, data center, lab, higher education and semi-conductor projects. Contract value range of $15M-200M. Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical Engineering preferred. Experience working with job sites in healthcare is preferred. Computer Skills Able to effectively operate the following computer software programs Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Viewpoint Note: This is not intended to be neither a detailed nor comprehensive description on any individual employee’s job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee. Duties include safety of UMEC field personnel assigned to their projects, preconstruction, design- assist, field labor productivity, quality assurance and coordination, project financial outcome, projections and reporting, material and equipment procurement, change order management, owner/client relations, project cash flow, and personnel management. Managers are responsible for directing and overseeing the work activities of their direct reports. Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, executed Plans, and Programs. REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES The requirements listed below are representative of characteristics and demonstrated capabilities sought to perform this job successfully. Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must prioritize in a fast-paced multi-task environment. Must have demonstrated ability to perform business mathematical functions. Must work with minimal supervision. Must effectively manage time and details. Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms. Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, executed Plans, and Programs. Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, vendors, and suppliers.
