    "description": "<h2>Position Description</h2>\n<p><strong>At a Glance</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Legrand </strong>has an exciting opportunity for a <strong>Electrical Engineer, Automation</strong> to join the <strong>Wiremold Team</strong> in <strong>West Hartford, CT</strong>. The Electrical Engineer, Automation is responsible for design of automated equipment and production cells. They will work individually and as part of a manufacturing team, specify and design new automation systems, troubleshoots and improve existing automation, develop documentation packages and training for process technicians and floor personnel.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What Will You Do?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Specify equipment needed to create new automated work cells including robotics, material handling systems, packaging equipment, etc.</li>\n <li>Define scope-of-work and coordinate internal and external resources to achieve project timelines.</li>\n <li>Write PLC programs for new systems created in house and provide assistance in troubleshooting existing automated equipment.</li>\n <li>Write new robotic programs and revise existing programs for maximum efficiency.</li>\n <li>Improve existing automation cells for increased uptime and output.</li>\n <li>Support implementation of production monitoring and performance software (ex. OEE) into existing legacy equipment.</li>\n <li>Occasional use of Solidworks to design automation system components; coordinate fabrication of components with in-house and external vendors to meet deliverable dates.</li>\n <li>Participate in cross-functional Kaizen improvement teams.</li>\n <li>Performs other similar and related duties as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong> BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong> 3-5 years of related work experience in machine/automation design – focus on controls-side / PLC preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have sound technical knowledge of automated equipment.</li>\n <li>Must have good mechanical skills.</li>\n <li>Must have experience programming robotics and PLCs – Allen Bradley RSLogix and ControlLogix preferred</li>\n <li>Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.</li>\n <li>Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to efficiently summarize information in an effective manner.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work independently as well as within a variety of teams. Must be highly collaborative to ensure timely completion of projects.</li>\n <li>Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail. Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.
