Mangrove Lithium, a Canadian cleantech company  located  in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, is focused on the commercial development of novel electrochemical technology capable of refining lithium from a wide variety of sources. Our breakthrough Li thium  refining technology  seeks  to unlock a battery powered, clean energy future. The company recently attracted funding through  the Canada Growth Fund,  Breakthrough Energy, BMW  iVentures , and BDC Capital and is working towards the deployment of a first-of-its-kind commercial plant. Position Mangrove is seeking an exceptional individual to play a key role in our multidisciplinary engineering team reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer . The Mechanical Engineer  or EIT  will work with engineering and management to support the mechanical development ,  installation , and operation  of chemical process plant designs , and contribute to engineering studies for future, large-scale, projects .  A key  responsibility   of  the role will  include assisting with the  build -out  of our  first-of-its-kind commercial plant. The broad scope of this role encompasses  the design  and  layout  of various aspects of new  chemical process plant  infrastructure .  You will  conceptual ize   and implement  plant designs based on input from the process , electrical, and management  team s ,  support the team  in  reviewing documentation  from our EPC s , participate in  brainstorming and review meetings,   liaise  with  stakeholders  to further refine plant characteristics , and help develop and manage documentation for the Projects and Engineering department. This is a n in-person   role which   will require on-site  presence  at  our   Delta,  BC  facility . Key Responsibilities Work with EPCs ,  partners , and internal team  to develop  and implement  plant mechanical design  for our first commercial plant. Assist  in  guiding, reviewing, and  managing   building improvements  required  prior to   equipment installation. Liaise with  operation  and  contractor s  to support/troubleshoot  issues  from conception through to commissioning. Prepare specifications  required  for third party fabrication, liaise with vendors ,  contractors , and internal stakeholders  to ensure successful and  timely  completion of work. Maintain project records and  provide  comprehensive  project  updates. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Qualifications and experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering  or  a related  fiel d. 1 - 5  years  of  industrial experience and strong interest  to work  in R&D and product development environment. Strong co-op experience within  rele vant  field . Experience with  drafting and modifying  2D AutoCAD  files Familiarity with  use  of  3D plant  modelling software. Excellent critical thinking, analysis, and creative problem-solving. Familiarity with industrial instrumentation is desir ed . Be  a   registered professional   with  Engineers and  Geoscientists   BC  (EIT or P.Eng.)  or   have the ability to  readily  become one. Basic understanding of electrochemistry would be an asset. Self-motivated, proactive,  flexible,  and passionate about learning. Must be a team player. Ability to interact with a wide range of scientists and engineers. Why Mangrove?
