    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>KEY DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</p>\n<p>Troubleshooting</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides observations about facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provides suggestions for enhancement and repair.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Maintenance</p>\n<ul>\n <li>​Performs work in accordance to established processes and practices.</li>\n <li>Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.</li>\n <li>Performs regular facility technical and non-technical component monitoring and inspection.</li>\n <li>Responds to routine service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.</li>\n <li>Operates facility mechanical, electrical and other systems</li>\n <li>Manages work order life cycle progressing the work form dispatched through to completion and records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements</li>\n <li>Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documents are maintained.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Client Relations</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Administration</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Records resolution data within service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements.</li>\n <li>Receives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance and repair work within service maintenance management database.&nbsp; Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required</li>\n <li>Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.</li>\n <li>Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.</li>\n <li>Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required</li>\n <li>Submits all expenditures on a timely basis.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned​</li>\n</ul>\n<p>KNOWLEDGE &amp; SKILLS</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>Minimum 3 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience</li>\n <li>Knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair non-technical facility components</li>\n <li>Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair</li>\n <li>Ability to research, learn, and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the-job—fire, life, and building codes and standards</li>\n <li>Possesses a strong environment, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner</li>\n <li>Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency</li>\n <li>Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS)</li>\n <li>Ability to read understand and interpret technical drawings and information</li>\n <li>Self-motivated</li>\n <li>Computer literacy</li>\n <li>Demonstrated maintenance and repair skills</li>\n <li>Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/stand-by and emergency call outs as they arise</li>\n <li>Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment</li>\n <li>Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements</li>\n <li>Valid drivers’ license</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Licenses and/or professional accreditation&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrate an interest in obtaining a diploma or a certificate, or be in the process of obtaining one.</li>\n <li>Meet the requirements for a higher security clearance.</li>\n <li>Any one of the following are considered an asset:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution preferred</li>\n   <li>Building Systems Maintenance Certificate (SMC)</li>\n   <li>Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA)</li>\n   <li>Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT)</li>\n   <li>Facilities Technician Certification</li>\n   <li>Working towards a trade license, an asset</li>\n   <li>Working towards Building Environment Systems (BES) Operation Class 1</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p>This is a regular, full-time position with a hourly range of $23.20 - $27.30 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.</p>",
