This role involves regular communication with clients, mapping requirements to platform capabilities, and proactive monitoring of systems. Over time, you will develop in-depth knowledge of electronic trading environments and the tools used by some of the world’s leading financial institutions.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will be doing</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Configuring applications to meet customer requirements.</li>\n<li>Working with Unix to configure low-latency servers to run P2D Analytics.</li>\n<li>Troubleshooting issues with application installations.</li>\n<li>Solving network problems using tools like P2D Analytics.</li>\n<li>Performing health checks and proactively monitoring installations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We’re looking for someone who has technical proficiency in:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electronic trading systems (Market Data and Order Entry).</li>\n<li>Experience using tcpdump and/or Wireshark.</li>\n<li>Understanding Ethernet, IP, TCP, and UDP.</li>\n<li>Experience with Protocol Decoders.</li>\n<li>Manipulating Unix filesystems (creating directories, editing files, etc).</li>\n<li>Checking the health of a system using tools like top, free, ps, etc.</li>\n<li>System tuning using kernel boot parameters and tools such as ethtool and sysctl.</li>\n<li>Experience in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).</li>\n<li>Ability to read log files and act accordingly.</li>\n<li>Editing XML, JSON, and ENV files.</li>\n<li>Understanding of REST APIs and web-based systems.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We’re also looking for candidates with:</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong research, writing and communication skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced and changeable working environment.</li>\n<li>Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail.</li>\n<li>Desire to travel and see the world.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and manage your own projects in a professional manner.</li>\n<li>A passion for innovation and the financial technology sector.</li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills.</li>\n<li>Project management skills and proven ability to manage own workload.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">How to apply:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Please submit a CV and cover letter to the Systems Engineer position on the Options Careers Page at <a href=\"https://www.options-it.com/careers/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https://www.options-it.com/careers/</a>.</p>\n<p><br>On your CV, please include a section on your Hobbies and Interests.
