    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Inspects, maintains, and repairs locomotives in accordance with FRA regulations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Second Shift - 1500 - 2300, Days off Saturday/Sunday</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Initial pay between $28.31/hr - $31.85/hr based off experience. Salary will increase to $35.39/hr once qualified (typically takes 6 months to a year)</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong> include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.</li>\n <li>Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.</li>\n <li>Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of units to ensure functionality and performance.</li>\n <li>Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts.</li>\n <li>Performs mechanical inspection on locomotives and repairs defects to conform to FRA regulations.</li>\n <li>Tests locomotives for performance by use of load box.</li>\n <li>Replaces brake shoes on locomotives.</li>\n <li>Disassembles and rebuilds locomotive trucks and replaces wheel sets and traction motors.</li>\n <li>Repairs and rebuilds diesel engines, air compressors, and many other locomotive components.</li>\n <li>Disassembles and reassembles locomotives and machinery.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.</strong>  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience reading blueprints.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Ability to understand both verbal and written communications – both general and technical.  Ability to write rou­tine reports and correspondence.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, us­ing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to com­pute rate, ratio, and percent.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>REASONING ABILITY</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Must have mechanical aptitude.  Ability to deal with prob­lems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Must be qualified welder.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, OR REGISTRATIONS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Must have current valid driver’s license.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS.</strong>  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential func­tions of this job.
