Our cutting-edge digital technology and dedicated team prioritize patient care and exceptional image quality.<br>\n<br>\nThe molecular imaging team is comprised of medical radiation technologists, radiopharmacists, radiologists, cardiologists and physicians who all work together to provide the best patient care.</p><p>As the first department in Ontario to use Radium-223 to treat prostate cancer, a preceptorship program was developed for other Ontario hospitals to implement&#xa0; Radium treatment programs.</p><p>The PET imaging department performs the highest number of PET scans in Ontario.</p><p>UHN is one of three sites in southern Ontario to perform PET Rubidium myocardical scans</p><p>Be part of our journey to shape the future of medical imaging through innovation, ground breaking research, education, and excellence in patient care. UHN is committed to ongoing education and quality assurance initiatives and is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and the Michener Institute of Education.<br>\n<br>\n<strong>Duties</strong></p><ul><li>Performs nuclear medicine procedure and quality assurance for PET as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis, intervention and or treatment</li><li>Ensures MRI Safety Standards of Practice are followed at all times</li><li>Operates, troubleshoots and ensures safe functioning of medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner</li><li>Prepare written and electronic reports required to properly document all procedures and test results</li><li>Attend PET-MR &amp; Research meetings as required</li><li>Assume the role and responsibility as the Radiation Safety Designate such as respond to radiation incident, and assist with minor or major spills in the area.</li><li>Attend quarterly RNRSC meeting</li><li>Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grand applications and&#xa0;data processing</li><li>Responsible for teaching, training, educational research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities</li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and utilizing the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to review, manipulate and archive digital medical images of data in final image formation</li><li>Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care</li><li>Understand and follow Hospital and departmental Research policies and procedures to improve technical quality</li></ul>",
