NEW PAY INCREASES ANNOUNCED! ** -Pipe Fabricator - Up to $ 37.00 per hour based upon experience and qualifications. Benefits-eligible within first 30 of employment Paid Time Off after 90 days of employment Paid holidays 401k with company match- eligible within first 30 days of employment Day and Night Shift available- 10%-night shift differential ** This position does not pay per diem. ** Shop Pipe Fabricator This is a project-based position. The Shop Pipe Fabricator lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts. At least 5 years of documented field experience in chosen craft discipline and have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation and plan and perform work activities alone. Must have Tier 1 Shop Fabrication Experience. Basic Qualifications: Must successfully pass the written Pipe Fabrication test and spool reading assessment. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal products in shop according to blueprint and layout specifications, preparatory to welding or riveting Plans sequence of operation, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat, and allowance for weld shrinkage, machining and thickness of metal Sets up face block, jigs and fixtures Locates and marks centerlines and reference points onto floor or face block and transposes them to work piece, using tape, chains, plumb bob, and squares Moves parts into position, manually or by hoist or crane Removes high spots and cuts bevels, using hand files, portable grinders and cutting torch. Straightens warped or bent parts Positions or tightens braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps or bolt parts in positions for welding or riveting Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment Performs other duties and activities as required Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing instructions and documents, plan and perform work activities independently Ability to apply shop mathematics to solve problems Can plan work and select proper tools Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job Works under minimum supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor.
