    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Location: </strong>Greater Hartford Area Services (GHAS), <em>The Bloom Initiative</em> serving Connecticut (Hartford, CT)</p>\n<p><strong>Status: </strong>Exempt, Full-time</p>\n<p><strong>Hours Per Week: </strong>40 (must be available for on-call emergency response)</p>\n<p><strong>Schedule: </strong>Monday–Friday; 8:30 am–4:30 pm (schedule may vary depending on the need and the nature of street outreach)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Scope of Position: </strong>Provide oversight of the AHT Program and supervision of program employees. Provide direct services and case management to human trafficking survivors. Assist with preparing the program budget and ensuring budget compliance. Assist with grant applications, funding requests, reports, donor proposals, program data collection, and finance invoicing, and ensure program and contract compliance. Work collaboratively with Divisional Headquarters and the Territorial AHT Director. The position will be home-based in the Hartford, CT, office, and the candidate must be prepared to provide services in other areas of Connecticut.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist in organizing one public awareness event on human trafficking per year.</li>\n <li>Assist with special events and seasonal programs.</li>\n <li>Assist with writing grant applications and donor proposals. </li>\n <li>Attend local, state, and national conferences, training sessions, and committee meetings.</li>\n <li>Certify the quality of local data and information reporting to support program outcomes.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with supervisors to develop a training plan for each program employee, supporting their professional development.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with the Department of Children and Families, local law enforcement, and other anti-human-trafficking service agencies to develop a care and follow-up plan for trafficking victims.</li>\n <li>Conduct case review meetings with Survivor Support Specialists and hold program employee meetings.</li>\n <li>Contribute to developing and implementing the strategic fundraising plan to ensure full support for the long-term program's sustainability and for its needs-based growth and evolution.</li>\n <li>Develop and implement an outreach plan that includes awareness campaigns and drop-in center efforts.</li>\n <li>Develop and implement victim services programs to meet the needs of trafficked people, including outreach, emergency response, case management, and drop-in centers.</li>\n <li>Engage and support the community by participating in outreach efforts to raise awareness of human trafficking and improve victim identification, including presentations on the program and human trafficking issues.</li>\n <li>Ensure accurate data collection and that outcomes are achieved for grants and other funders.</li>\n <li>Maintain a professional and organized workspace.</li>\n <li>Maintain the highest level of professionalism in all communication. </li>\n <li>Manage program contracts and reporting, including statistical reporting and invoices for funders.</li>\n <li>Monitor program delivery to ensure quality service is delivered by utilizing best practices to maximize program effectiveness.</li>\n <li>Must be prepared for on-call emergencies.</li>\n <li>Prepare and maintain high-quality case notes and documentation for all contacts and services.</li>\n <li>Provide direct, comprehensive case management services to survivors of human trafficking using a trauma-informed, harm-reduction, survivor-centered approach.</li>\n <li>Recruit, train, and supervise all program employees and volunteers.</li>\n <li>Refer and connect survivors to the appropriate locations for pastoral care, programs, and other services.</li>\n <li>Serve as the point of contact for survivors, assess their needs, and assign survivors to the caseloads of Survivor Support Specialists. </li>\n <li>Serve as the primary representative on statewide anti-trafficking commissions and committees.</li>\n <li>Serve as The Salvation Army's representative on the Greater Hartford Regional Human Trafficking Recovery Taskforce (RHTRT).</li>\n <li>Stay current on program funding resources and help supervisors secure additional localized funding.</li>\n <li>Track program statistics and outcomes, enter data, and monitor case notes and data entered by all program staff. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field is required; a master’s in social work is preferred.</li>\n <li>A valid driver’s license is required.</li>\n <li>At least two years of supervisory, human trafficking, and case management experience are required. Experience working with similar populations, such as domestic violence and sexual assault, is also applicable.</li>\n <li>Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.</li>\n <li>Experience in public speaking and speaking to small groups is preferred.</li>\n <li>Grant writing experience is highly preferred.</li>\n <li>A positive “can-do” attitude, who is self-motivated and dependable.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain ethical conduct and carry out business consistent with the organization's mission, values, and policies.</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate discretion, integrity, and confidentiality in dealing with all matters.</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathetic listening.</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational and case file/documentation management skills.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of or willingness to learn a trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and survivor-centered approach.</li>\n <li>Linguistic and cultural competency to holistically serve survivors of human trafficking.</li>\n <li>Must be interested and able to work with people and clients of diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.</li>\n <li>Must maintain a professional appearance.</li>\n <li>Strong time-management skills with the ability to organize.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of the functions of community organizations, social services, health care systems, and related human services.</li>\n <li>Will respect and promote the interests of The Salvation Army.
