This role provides leadership across machining, Babbitt casting, assembly, inspection, and seal manufacturing activities while developing the business acumen, operational leadership, and strategic decision-making capabilities.</p><p><strong><u>SKILLS REQUIRED</u></strong></p><p>ORGANIZATIONAL - Leadership &amp; Organization:</p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>The ability to effectively plan and organize production timelines to ensure timely delivery and efficient workflow.</li><li>Skill in managing and optimizing the coordination of tasks across different departments to enhance productivity.</li><li>The capability to track and report key performance metrics, allowing for informed decision-making and continuous improvement.</li></ul><p>INTERPERSONAL - Experience Required:</p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>The ability to foster strong relationships with customers through effective communication, ensuring satisfaction and timely issue resolution.</li><li>Skilled in training and mentoring employees, promoting collaboration, accountability, and a positive work culture.</li><li>The capacity to address and resolve issues effectively, serving as a technical resource for troubleshooting and guiding teams through challenges.</li></ul><p>EFFICIENCY - Experience Preferred:</p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>The ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement solutions to enhance throughput and reduce waste.</li><li>Skilled in leading and supporting initiatives aimed at improving process efficiency and minimizing downtime.</li><li>The capability to track and analyze key performance indicators related to productivity, cost, quality, and safety to drive informed improvements.</li></ul><p><strong><u>PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES</u></strong></p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>Act as a key member of the site leadership team, contributing to long-term planning, business objectives, and organizational success.</li><li>Responsible for understanding and complying with the safety policy, procedures, and instructions.</li><li>Drive adherence to company policies and the RMS Employee Handbook, address workplace concerns professionally, partner with Human Resources when necessary, and foster a positive, accountable team environment.</li><li>Ensure on-time completion of Performance Evaluations and perform regular maintenance to Employee Skill &amp; Training Matrix.</li><li>Lead and coordinate daily activities of machining, Babbitt casting, assembly, seal manufacturing, and inspection personnel to ensure quality, productivity, and on-time delivery objectives are achieved.</li><li>Assist Quality Control personnel in trouble-shooting NCRs or with RCAs as needed.</li><li>Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Scheduling, and Project Management teams to prioritize workloads and meet customer delivery commitments.</li><li>Coach craft labor during disassembly, inspection, repair, and assembly of complex rotating equipment.</li><li>Maximize &ldquo;utilization&rdquo; while ensuring shop resources are working on scheduled tasks while understanding job priorities.</li><li>Attend production meetings, giving updates and suggestions, as necessary.</li><li>Identify opportunities for standardization with respect to work practices and routers.</li><li>Coordinate preventive maintenance activities for machine tools, Babbitt casting systems, and other critical production assets.</li><li>Maintain familiarity with hydrodynamic journal bearings, thrust bearings, labyrinth seals, oil seals, and related turbomachinery components used in compressors, turbines, motors, pumps, and other rotating equipment.</li><li>Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing routers, inspection reports, and repair procedures to ensure products meet customer and engineering requirements.</li><li>Develop a working knowledge of Babbitt casting processes, precision machining operations, bearing assembly, seal manufacturing, and dimensional inspection practices.</li><li>Communicate with supervision, crafts, and Project Managers during the inspection and repair process.</li><li>Must have excellent organizational skills.</li><li>Expert in use of precision measuring equipment (mic, caliper, etc.).</li><li>Lead by example in promoting teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development.</li><li>Support overtime, weekend, and holiday work requirements as necessary to meet customer commitments and production demands.</li><li>Develop succession plans for key shop positions and actively support employee growth and career development.</li><li>Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required.</li><li>Ability and willingness to work around and use large propane / acetylene torches.</li><li>Ability to operate small lifts, pallet jacks, and other lifting equipment.</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Basic computer and math skills.</li></ul><p><strong><u>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</u></strong></p><p>The above list of activities is not all inclusive but a general representation of the requirements of an RMS Production Supervisor. This list is subject to change based on the needs of the company.</p><p><strong><u>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE &amp; QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>15+ years in relevant turbomachinery industry in shop environment.</li><li>Strong machining knowledge required.</li><li>Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.</li></ul><p><strong><u>REQUIRED EDUCATION&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>&nbsp;High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.</li><li>Post High School degree in a mechanical related field is a plus.</li></ul><p><strong><u>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION</u></strong></p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>This position will be based full-time in our BJ Superior facility located in South Houston, TX&nbsp;</li><li>This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required based on project needs.</li><li>Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs. (50 lbs. with assistance), walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance.</li><li>Must be able to use hands for assembly and tool usage.</li><li>While performing the duties of this position the employee will be required to stand, sit, bend, and walk for significant portions of the shift.&nbsp;</li><li>Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.</li><li>This position can be required to participate in the company random or customer specific drug and alcohol screening and background check.</li><li>Able to understand, read, write, and speak English.</li><li>Authorized to work in the United States.</li><li>RMS Inc. may have government contracts that impose specific requirements on employees working on those projects. If an employee does not meet these requirements, they may be reassigned to a different location or be ineligible to work on certain assignments.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Work Environment:</p>While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
