Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Diesel & Automotive Mechanic to join our growing fleet operations team. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in diesel engine systems alongside a strong foundation in gasoline-powered vehicles, light and heavy trucks, and commercial machinery. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, drivetrain components, electrical systems, and emissions systems across a diverse fleet of cars, trucks, and heavy equipment Perform and document routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, brake inspections, and tune-ups Troubleshoot and repair diesel-specific systems including fuel injection, turbochargers, DEF/emissions systems, and high-pressure common rail systems Inspect and repair or replace worn, broken, or malfunctioning components such as belts, hoses, suspension parts, and hydraulic systems Identify fluid leaks, electrical faults, and mechanical failures using diagnostic tools and equipment Schedule and advise on future maintenance needs to maximize vehicle longevity and minimize downtime Maintain accurate service logs, repair records, and parts usage documentation Keep all shop tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment clean, calibrated, and in safe working condition Adhere strictly to all workplace safety protocols, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations regarding hazardous fluids and chemicals Qualifications Proven experience as a mechanic with demonstrated diesel engine expertise (commercial trucks, heavy equipment, or fleet vehicles strongly preferred) In-depth knowledge of diesel fuel systems, electrical/electronic diagnostics, and emissions compliance Proficiency with diagnostic software and scan tools (e.g., Cummins INSITE, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, or equivalent) Ability to operate shop equipment including hydraulic lifts, presses, and pneumatic tools safely and effectively Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in varying environmental conditions High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a vocational/technical program or formal apprenticeship preferred ASE Certification required; ASE Medium/Heavy Truck (T-series) or equivalent diesel certification strongly preferred Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus What We Offer Competitive compensation commensurate with experience A supportive team environment with opportunities for advancement
