Join our team to enjoy comprehensive benefits, including travel privileges on the American Airlines global network, so you can explore new destinations and create unforgettable memories with family and friends.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<h1><strong>Position Summary</strong></h1>\n<p>Crew Schedulers are an integral part of the Operation Control Center (OCC) and serve as a critical component to the airline’s operation. The Crew Scheduler is responsible for ensuring each scheduled flight is legally covered with the appropriate crew compliment.  A Crew Scheduler monitors and aptly amends crew schedules by adhering to FARs, policies and procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreements.</p>\n<h2><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Create and modify crew schedules to resolve all conflicts created by weather, maintenance, and crew issues by exercising decision-making skills that comply with all applicable FAA regulations, CBA, and company policies while using resources efficiently.</li>\n <li>Interact with crew members and process daily absences, operation reassignments, crew swaps, and crew movement</li>\n <li>Resolve flight crew legality problems and rest requirements based on appropriate regulatory and contractual requirements.</li>\n <li>Maintain the integrity of the flight schedule by ensuring all segments have been assigned to a legal crew.</li>\n <li>Provide a high level of attention to detail and precise communication to crew members about schedule changes.</li>\n <li>Build all open crew member segments into trips and cover for current day.</li>\n <li>Make last-minute changes to crew hotel reservations/cancellations and transportation arrangements, as necessary, during daily operations.</li>\n <li>Book crew members on deadhead flights when needed</li>\n <li>Monitor crew members check-in status to assure coverage</li>\n <li>Communicate with Crew Scheduling Coordinators, Dispatch Coordinators and Maintenance Supervisors regarding daily operational concerns to resolve any operational issues.</li>\n <li>Utilize multiple software systems to track and solve complex scheduling problems and complete required checklists.</li>\n <li>Monitor and maintain FAR legality and contractual compliance of crew member schedules for a 24 hour/ 7-day operation and make appropriate modifications to meet such regulations.</li>\n <li>Assist with irregular operations by processing Crew Recovery Reports</li>\n <li>Assist with on-the-job training for New Hire Schedulers</li>\n <li>Responsible for the Company’s Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Position Specifics</h2>\n<h1><strong>Qualifications</strong></h1>\n<p>Required</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Previous customer service experience.</li>\n <li>Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li>\n <li>Must be self-motivated and able to proactively identify and prevent potential operational disruptions.</li>\n <li>Must be able to adapt to changes under pressure situations and maintain composure in high volume stress situations.</li>\n <li>Ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing environments/priorities.</li>\n <li>Ability to speak, read, write in English.</li>\n <li>Must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the U.S.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Crew scheduling experience.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of airline and aviation terminology.</li>\n <li>Aviation operations experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Additional Information</strong></h2>\n<p><strong>Supervisory Responsibility:</strong> This is not a supervisory position.</p>\n<p><strong>Delegation:</strong> In absence, Manager of Crew Scheduling will handle and assign tasks.</p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong>: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.<strong>Physical Demands:</strong> The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
