We never lose sight of safety, quality, integrity and innovation.</p><p>We are committed to our dedicated people, who inspire us every day to deliver something more powerful than power alone.</p><p><strong>POSITION OVERVIEW:</strong></p><p>Provides project management for the development and construction of large-scale transmission and distribution sub station projects, including the interconnection of new generation associated with the Transmission system as well as renewables associated with the distribution system.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>Provides project management, technical oversight and leadership expertise in the development and construction of transmission and distribution projects. There will be significant management of engineering consultants and service/construction contractors. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Leads multi-disciplined teams comprised of internal and external members through project development, preparation, approval and execution phases including: cost estimate preparation, stakeholder consultation and approvals (eg. ISO requirements for technical study, adverse impacts, acceptance, etc.), developer agreements, business approvals, assurance of permits and land acquisition, material procurement, contract procurement, construction management, safety oversight, witness testing and commissioning.</li><li><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">R</span>esponsible for all project governance including developing and maintaining project scope, budgets and forecasts, necessary project approvals, controls, and closure. &nbsp;</li><li>Maintains project accuracy in the Capital Management System, and uses project management software (Microsoft Project, MS Excel etc.) to schedule, track and coordinate projects. &nbsp;</li><li>Work with the Legal Department on the development and management of contracts and agreements for all phases of transmission and distribution projects, including conducting bid processes and contract negotiations. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Provides or obtains the necessary expertise to assist in preparing business cases, financial analysis, management decision making and issue escalation.</li><li>Keeps records to facilitate the proper close-out of projects including change orders, commissioning records, operational guides upon turnover to operations, and appropriate financial records. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Ensures safety performance and compliance for projects. Ensures implementation of the Company Contractor Safety Program. &nbsp;</li><li>Ensures that Versants technical and planning design standards are employed as required.</li><li>Responsible for project scheduling and coordination with appropriate stakeholders (external), Asset Management, Distributed Generation, Line Operations, PST and System Operations.</li><li>Manages communication and relationships with external parties including regulatory, developers, local municipalities, property owners and businesses, and coordinates these efforts with internal resources. &nbsp;</li><li>Understands and complies with all internal project development and procurement processes. &nbsp;</li><li>Works in accordance with the documented environmental procedures, instructions, and specific responsibilities as defined in individual procedures and instructions. Reports problems or deviations associated with environmental issues and the Environmental Management System (EMS) to the Environmental Department.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p>Performs other related duties as assigned including designated duties associated with storm restoration.</p><p><strong>REQUIRED OR PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>A formal education degree, in electrical power systems, is preferred; other skills and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.&nbsp;</li><li><span style=\"white-space:pre;\" data-pasted=\"true\">M</span>inimum of five years of experience in project management, transmission/distribution line or substation operations and construction, or related fields preferred.</li><li>Position requires strong business acumen, project management, leadership and general management skills. &nbsp;</li><li>Requires skills in work planning, scheduling, forecasting, organizing and analysis.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, organizational and team-building skills required.&nbsp;</li><li>Position requires excellent technology skills, including proficiency in project management/scheduling software, Capital Management System, Excel, Project, Word, Power point, Smart Sheet, and internal Company planning systems. &nbsp;Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken required. Comfortable with public speaking.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, schedules, budgets, and meet deal lines.</li><li>Experience in managing contractors and contract documents preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Supervisory experience as well as project management experience preferred. &nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>PHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><ul><li>Position requires both office and field work, and requires walking, standing, and driving. Construction projects require regular field visits to remote, outdoor job sites. Some evening meetings may be required. Some projects require overnight travel.</li><li>Position requires flexible schedule and frequent hours outside of the normal business hours.&nbsp;</li><li>Position requires excellent technical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.</li><li>Position requires frequent interaction with contractors and Versant Power employees.</li><li>Position requires visual and mental concentration.</li><li>Position requires extensive computer usage.</li><li>Position may be stressful due to deadlines, workload, and interpersonal interactions under pressure.</li><li><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">P</span>osition requires current Maine Driver&rsquo;s License.</li></ul><p><strong>WORK HOURS:</strong></p><p>Usual work Monday through Friday, working between 40-50 hours is experienced.
