Embrace the challenge and excitement of keeping our mountain safe and exhilarating!</p><p></p><h1><b><span>Job Responsibilities:</span></b></h1><ul><li><p><b>Equipment &amp; Inventory</b>: Master all first aid equipment (e.g., ECG monitor, AED) and maintain triage room supplies with daily inventory checks.</p></li><li><p><b>Protocols &amp; Assistance</b>: Follow WVOEMS Paramedic Protocols, handle critical incidents, and assist local EMS agencies. Provide directions to hospitals and support state paramedic protocols.</p></li><li><p><b>Guest &amp; Patient Care</b>: Greet and triage patients, ensure quality care for serious injuries, and coordinate transport via ambulance or patrol vehicles. Offer directions to medical facilities and maintain safety standards.</p></li><li><p><b>Safety &amp; Operations</b>: Inspect slopes and prepare trails, monitor transport systems, and report hazards. Conduct patrol sweeps, enforce skier responsibility codes, and ensure effective trail closing.</p></li><li><p><b>Team Support</b>: Assist with emergency evacuations, maintain patrol facilities, and support guest services. Document incidents and contribute to team efforts and departmental goals.</p></li><li><p><b>Maintenance &amp; Communication</b>: Handle slope maintenance, clear hazards, and perform professional skiing/riding. Keep accurate records and communicate effectively with team members and guests.</p></li></ul><p></p><h1><b><span>Education:</span></b></h1><ul><li><p>High School Diploma or GED</p></li><li><p>Current WV certified EMT-Paramedic with ACLS/ PHTLS</p></li><li><p>Obtain an Outdoor Emergency Care if not already acquired</p></li><li><p>Hold a current Healthcare Provider CPR card</p></li><li><p>Advance/Expert Level skier or snowboarder</p></li></ul><p></p><h1><b><span>Driving:</span></b></h1><ul><li><p><span>Have a valid Driver’s license and ability to pass the Snowshoe Driving Program</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h1><b><span>Preferred Experience:</span></b></h1><ul><li><p>2 years in a similar role</p></li><li><p>Ability to pass the National Ski Patrol Basic level ski patrol test</p></li><li><p>Dues and Fees: Pay annual dues to the national ski patrol to maintain Outdoor Emergency Care certificate. If applicable pay annual and semiannual fees associated with maintaining First Responder or EMT-P license. Pay annual fees for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation refresher class</p></li><li><p>Will have to ride with manager or supervisor to evaluate skills (skiing and biking)</p></li><li><p>Patroller must be an intermediate to advanced downhill mountain biker and advanced/expert level skier or snowboarder</p></li><li><p>Job Specific Background check</p></li><li><p>Maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation</p></li><li><p>Must complete the snowmobile and/or ATV (UTV) training course as well as be an approved driver on the Snowshoe Driving Program before operating a company</p></li><li><p>Annual snowmobile and ATV (UTV) training refresher</p></li><li><p>To have and wear full face helmet, forearm pads, knee/shin pads, gloves, goggles, and riding for downhill</p></li><li><p>General maintenance knowledge for downhill</p></li><li><p>Have annual ski binding safety tests</p></li></ul><p></p><h3><i><span>All Information above is subject to change at any time.  </span></i></h3><h3><i><span>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.</span></i></h3><h3><i><span>Snowshoe is an equal opportunity employer.</span></i></h3>",
