  "key_responsibilities": "<ul><li><!--block-->Perform field inspections, condition assessments, flow/ stream gage installation, and field data collection.</li><li><!--block-->Develop and use hydrologic/hydraulic simulation computer models to analyze rainfall/runoff transformations as well as closed conduit, open channel, pump station, reservoir, and floodplain flows.</li><li><!--block-->Use GIS software to perform analytical tasks and database updates to support hydrologic and hydraulic studies.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Develop watershed and facility maps, technical reports, and presentations.</li><li><!--block-->Prepare hydrologic studies and design hydraulic structures.</li><li><!--block-->Tabulate and summarize statistical data and assist with the preparation of reports.</li><li><!--block-->Support the planning and design of public works improvements and/or private land development improvements by assisting with plan preparation, profiles and cross-sections, and performing various other calculations and drawings.</li></ul>",

  "skills_knowledge_expertise": "<ul><li><!--block-->Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Masters a plus.</li><li><!--block-->California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.</li><li><!--block-->Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.</li><li><!--block-->Coursework in Hydraulic and Hydrologic Concepts and Modeling.</li><li><!--block-->Computer literate in Microsoft Office, with proficiency in GIS, ArcMap 10.4 (or latest update), proficiency in AutoCAD program and other software as applicable to the department.&nbsp; Knowledge of programming languages a plus.</li><li><!--block-->Able to clearly communicate technical information in both verbal and written forms.</li><li><!--block-->Able to perform intermediate-level open channel and floodplain hydraulic analyses using one-dimensional (ICM, HEC-RAS, SWMM, et. al) and two-dimensional modeling software (ICM, TUFLOW, DHI, HEC-RAS, et. al.).</li><li><!--block-->Able to perform intermediate-level rainfall/runoff modeling using HEC-HMS or other comparable software to determine flood hydrograph timing and volume.</li><li><!--block-->Able to assist in analyzing rainfall and stream flow gage data for depth/duration/frequency.</li><li><!--block-->AutoCAD programs, GIS, Arcmap 10.1 (or latest update) and other software as applicable to the department.</li><li><!--block-->A fundamental understanding and demonstrated knowledge of general civil engineering practices in floodplain management analysis and design is necessary.</li></ul><div><!--block-->A note on hourly pay ranges</div><div><!--block-->&nbsp;</div><div><!--block-->The range does not reflect geographic variations and may fluctuate above or below the stated amount.
