Description

Overview The Maintenance Technician's primary responsibility is to ensure that the machinery used in daily operations runs at maximum efficiency and output. This includes overseeing preventive maintenance, managing mechanical, electrical, and robotic equipment, as well as supervising employees, budgets, and cost reporting. This hands-on role requires a commitment to working extended hours during busy periods and being a team player who is willing to perform various related tasks throughout the day. Responsibilities Abide by all facility safety rules, regulations, and corporate policies Support and implement best practices in maintenance vision, strategy, policies, and procedures to enhance operational performance Identify risks and implement measures to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents involving contractors and maintenance personnel Develop and manage weekly maintenance schedules while ensuring compliance and prioritization of tasks Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime Perform maintenance tasks efficiently and to the highest quality standards Monitor and control repair costs and job execution for optimal efficiency Maintain accurate records of completed work, including tools, materials, and equipment used Review equipment history and ensure proper documentation in work order completions Report maintenance performance during major overhauls and suggest improvements Prioritize work orders based on emergencies and facility needs Maintain high standards of housekeeping, productivity, and workmanship, particularly within the mechanical maintenance department Strive to achieve 98% job reliability across all maintenance tasks Investigate safety incidents and near misses, and implement corrective actions Address facility concerns with the manager in a timely manner Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Education and Experience: Minimum 5 years’ combined experience as an Equipment Maintenance Technician Must have experience with Electrical and Hydraulics Knowledge/Skills/Competencies: Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities Ability to work under pressure and meet priorities and deadlines Good attendance and a positive attitude Ability to optimize work processes Experience negotiating with vendors Understanding of maintenance tracking software Experience with overhead cranes, burning tables, or similar machinery (preferred) Other: Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
